Plain, adj / Plainly, adv
lacking ornament, undecorated, simple, free from extraneous matter, pure,
evident to the mind or senses, true, genuine.

There could be lots of reasons for wanting things plain 'n simple.

Maybe
it's because I'm living in my sixth decade of this earthly journey.

Maybe it is because I've walked alongside countless  travelers - brothers and sisters in
Christ -  in  five pastorates, four associate positions with church fellowships in four
states
.  Oh, add  in two years as a North American Mission Board Chaplain at a
maximum security prison.

Maybe it is because I needed clear insight as our three children turned into
teenagers..and passed successfully through those years into adulthood, and now I need
that same clear insight as I pray for my grandchildren.

Maybe it is because in the challenge of "living in this world, but not of it" and facing its
inherent injustices, deceits, and sorrows  added to my own willful ways, I need  the Way
made
evident to my mind and senses  to know His Hope and power.

Maybe it's because I  want the mechanic to just "cut to the chase",  the physician to "tell
me in words I can understand", and my sweet wife to say it "in fewer words."

My heart (and perhaps yours as well) is no  different from the Jewish guys of John 10:24
or even  those who walked with the Savior  as they spoke in John 16:29:
(The Message)

"Finally, You are giving it to us straight  in plain talk...no more  figures of speech."

I am grateful for a God who makes Himself known and longs for us to seek His face that
we may know Him intimately.

May plainly-church be a place of  Life, rest and refueling as we share His Word
together.

Let us leave here taking  His love to the highways and byways, and then assemble in our
places  of  corporate fellowship  to hear His revealed Word and worship the One who
first loved us!

Thanks for spending some time here.  Our aim is obviously plain..

Until He Comes Again,
Bro. Benny

This little green tree holds some meaningful stories; in addition to the stories, the "green
tree" represents NEW COMMUNITY CHURCH where it is the church logo.

Green the color which represents LIFE.  During the winter of the year, GREEN has
saturated trees with its absence!  The trees appear dead; that's because, as you know,
the 'sap' has gone into to roots.  In the 'sap' there is life.

Metaphorically, 'sap' to the tree equals the Holy Spirit to the church.  No Spirit ~ no life!

"Look at me. I stand at the door. I knock. If you hear me call and open the
door, I'll come right in and sit down to supper with you,"
Revelations 3:20
The Message

Ashamedly, this text, which comes from Jesus' lips, goes to the Laodicean CHURCH.
Imagine, Jesus having to ask a CHURCH to invite HIM in, as HE knocks on the
CHURCH'S door.

Green stands for one of the reasons for using The Tree as N.C.C.'s logo-color.  We're
alive because He is alive!

Any tree maintains its vibrancy, life and 'fruits' because of
the root system.

N.C.C.'s very first objective with new attenders will be to establish a solid foundation for
their Christian life
(root system) in God's Word.

Thirdly, notice The Tree  displays several parts.  Notice the limbs; notice the leaves;
notice the trunk;
each part is different, yet each is necessary!  Each part claims
no superiority to the other parts. That's because each is equal and necessary.  Each
part complements the other to constitute the whole: The GREEN TREE.
